Who Guides the CJF
     Each year, the members of the Culpepper Journalism Foundation meet to select the winners of the CJF Fellowships and discuss CJF business. Dr. Alyce Culpepper has been the Executive Director since the beginning.
     South Plantation High journalism alumni, members of the local media and Culpepper family members serve on the Board. 
    SPHS alumni who are charter board members  who served since 1997 are Jennifer Ator Tallman, Cindy DePanicis, Janet Cass Del Pinal, Roger Harvey, Brandon Hawthorne, Julie Terango Kasper, Cathy Gartin Kononetz, Valerie Griffin McCarty and Linda Topping Streitfeld.

Remembering...
  ​   It is with great sorrow we share the news that Jennifer Ator, one of the Culpepper Journalism Foundation’s original board members, died on January 3, 2022 following a multiyear battle with early-onset dementia. A force of nature, Jennifer made a great impact while at South Plantation High School and afterwards. 
    Personally, she was an enormous help when we created the CJF. Her passion and strong will were infectious, letting nothing getting her way. We will be forever grateful to her.
